About Us
The Casa Grande
Alliance is a community coalition that was formed in 1989.
Mission
Our mission is to build partnerships and work together to reduce
substance abuse and violence among youth and adults.
Members of the CG Alliance include over 35 individuals and
agencies who share a vision of a safe and drug-free community.
We consider Casa Grande, and all families served by the Casa
Grande school districts, as our target community.
Funding for CG Alliance activities comes
largely from a grant from the Office of National Drug Control
Policy’s Drug Free Communities program. Those funds are
administered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration. Grant funds are matched 100% by in-kind and
volunteer contributions by member agencies and individuals, and
several other grant sources.

Goals
Reducing substance abuse
The Casa Grande
Alliance aims to reduce the illegal use of alcohol and other
drugs by youth and adults. Environmental strategies are used to
reduce youth access to alcohol and other drugs. The Casa Grande
Police Department and other law enforcement agencies regularly
conduct compliance checks on vendors of alcohol and tobacco to
ensure compliance with laws against selling to minors. Youth
cited for underage possession of tobacco or alcohol can
participate in a diversion education program through Alliance
partner agencies.
Our coalition
also works diligently to reduce the availability of the
precursor chemicals need to make methamphetamine.
The CG Alliance
provides public education and awareness about alcohol and other
drugs through a variety presentations and media. The Coalition
maintains a resource library of pamphlets, videos, and other
information for the public.
Parents of
toddlers, elementary, and high-school age youth can access
parenting skills and child development training through the
University of Arizona. These skills help reduce a child’s risk
of ever using drugs or alcohol.

Reducing
violence
CG Alliance
partner agencies provide education and awareness information
sessions to reduce the incidence of violence between children,
and between adults. This includes bullying prevention training
for teachers and students.
Partnering
We believe that
only by working together can we create a safe and
drug-free community. If you are interested in joining the CG
Alliance, contact us by phone, mail or email. We have
“participating” members and “associate” members, depending on
your availability to attend our monthly meetings. There is no
cost associated with coalition membership.
